Pet Ownership

An owner is any person, firm, or corporation who owns, has custody or control, has right of property in an animal, who harbors an animal or allows an animal to remain about his/her premises for a period of 10 days. Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. In addition to providing adequate care for animals, pet owners must also consider the rights of their neighbors and the community as a whole. Owners should prevent pets from running at large since unrestrained animals transmit diseases, produce unwanted litters, damage property, and attack children and adults.
